Keep those pins movin’ people…

 Not much can frustrate your bowlers more than having to wait for the machine to set pins. How often do you see pins just sitting on the shaker board but not making it to the pinwheel?  Many things can cause this. A very common, overlooked issue is the carpet covers. There are many different styles and brands on the market. They are great products despite the differences in the brands and materials. But they all have one thing in common; they all get contaminated with dirt and oil. That said, that is what they’re designed to do. The biggest issue we at SBI run across with carpet covers is that they do not get cleaned properly. It is very easy to do and doesn’t take much additional time. When washing your carpet covers use a regular laundry detergent and add about 1 cup of ammonia in with the load of covers. The laundry detergent will get the dirt out of the covers and the ammonia will help remove the oil. The only other factor is how frequently you clean the covers. Typically, once a week is sufficient, but this will vary from center to center. How often they need cleaning will depend on your environment. The cleaner you keep the covers the longer they will last and the longer they will keep your pins, machines, and bowlers clean.

Sometimes it is necessary to purchase the entire assembly, but most of the time it is not. So why should you buy the assembly? We asked ourselves the same question and couldn’t answer it either.
